contrary to popular belief, what the song title means is "don't cry woman". not "i'm going to cry because i don't have a woman". otherwise the whole world would have been flooded with tears by now. that said, this has got to be one of the greatest songs ever written. gotta love bob marley. theres a kind of a depressing/melancholic atmosphere about the song that i can't really describe. it just seems to manage to make me feel worse than i usually do. in a good way of course (paradoxical as it seems i find joy in sorrow but thats besides the point). beautiful song. listen and weep.
