act appalled

i've been told that i'm apathetic and indifferent to the suffering/problems of others. hence leading to the misconception that i'm an asshole. well maybe its not a misconception cause i really am an asshole but thats besides the point. anyway the point i'm trying to make is how hypocritical and idiotic empathy and sympathy really is. as if we haven't enough problems of our own to be bothered with the problems of others. here's another interesting point: do you really think that by being emphatic/sympathising with other's suffering its going to alleviate their problems? what by thinking about the poor hungry african kids they're going to have their stomachs magically filled? pity and empathy is useless without effective action. and i certainly don't see much action being taken to help solve the world's problems. oh sure theres the few good samaritans who do actually help and i've got no problems with them at all. in fact we should get more of these people around. it'll make the world less fucked up. the problem is, although most people are emphatatic/sympathetic/etc , they just leave it at that and don't do anything about the so called problems. look at how the victims of the tsunami were forgotten after the initial fervour and pledge to provide them with aid. even better, look at the pakistan earthquake victims (i put the link there cause i know for sure half of the people out there have forgotten about it). its been like only a year and everyone's conveniently forgotten about those poor souls still living in shitty conditions. you'll realise that its not me who's insensitive but in fact all you hypocritical bastards out there who're the insensitive ones. at least i didn't pretend to care. everyone else should be ashamed of themselves for pretending to care and conveniently forgetting about the sufferers once all the hype of the disaster/problem is gone. sometimes i think that the only reason people try to help is that theres something in it for them. again no disrespect to those genuinely interested in making the world a better place but do you really think celebrities/high profile people give a fuck about the problems of people in foreign lands? half the time its to boost their profile while the other half of the time they forget about the problems after a couple of months/weeks. look at the hypocrisy people. the world is such a shitty place humanity is at such a sad state right now and i think its better not to care at all rather than to pretend to care. hey, at least i'm being honest. call me cynical or pessimistic or apathetic or whatever. i don't care cause i know what i said is true and you sure as hell do too so give up the act and stop pretending. go solve your own problems before you meddle in the problems of others. apathy is good. empathy/sympathy is stupid. wake up and smell the shit dumbfucks.
